About Union Stewards
The University is divided into 38 Areas, by geographical location and department. Union Stewards act as an on-the-ground resource for UCPEA members in their Area. Because Union Stewards work in the same buildings and departments as the members they serve, Stewards have unique insight into the working conditions and concerns of their members.
UCPEA Stewards attend one hour-long meeting per month to receive updates on goings-on within the Union and at the University, as well as to provide feedback on their members’ concerns. In addition to the monthly meeting, Stewards may be invited to attend occasional trainings.
Stewards host Area Meetings for their members approximately once per semester to encourage camaraderie and invite member feedback.
