Join fellow employees and students at UConn in supporting Starbucks Workers United (SBWU) on Thursday, 11/12 from 11am-2pm on Fairfield Way on the Storrs campus.
Starbucks is engaging in union-busting tactics, and unionized Starbucks workers are asking labor allies to help them spread the word about a nationwide Starbucks boycott. The nationwide goal is to bring the company back to the negotiating table in good-faith, and in particular, SBWU would like UConn to not license with Starbucks, which it currently does via the bookstore.
We support the baristas on our campuses and they deserve better. We already have amazing unionized employees at UConn who feed students, faculty, and staff, so it is very reasonable for Starbucks to treat their employees right or to have the employees at the bookstore work under a different owner.
