This Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 5:00 PM the Appropriations Committee will be holding a public hearing on the Governor's Adjusted State Budget (ending on June 30, 2027) focusing specifically on Higher Education. UCPEA President, Peter Morenus, and UCPEA VP for Political Action, Amber LaFontaine, will be testifying either in person or through written comments. The Public Hearings will be live streamed at Connecticut General Assembly - Appropriations Committee Youtube Channel
Additionally, on Thursday, there will also be a Higher Education Union Press Conference (State Capitol - Room 310) starting at 10:30 AM. Our sister union UConn-AAUP is trying to pack the room, and we'd love for UCPEA members to be there and represent.

Submit a short testimony about the importance of fully funding UConn.
Individuals may testify in person or via Zoom, but must first register using the On-line Testimony Registration Form. Registration will close on Wednesday, February 18th at 3:00 PM. Anyone needing help registering can contact Teri Merisotis at tmerisotis@aftct.org.
