Updated Professional Development Application

The PDA application has moved to Kuali Build and the link to the form is below. The new application allows applicants to better track their award status as well as their allocation balance for the year.

LinkedIn Learning

The Professional Issues Committee is collaborating with Human Resources to provide members with a wide range of e-learning resources through LinkedIn Learning, a digital library of over 6,000 courses covering a wide range of technical, business, software, and creative topics. Funding for this service is through HR’s share of the Professional Development Award (PDA) pool.

LinkedIn Learning offers the opportunity to develop professional skills, learn new software, and explore other areas of interest before your career growth. You may watch an entire course or individual videos, and you will be able to bookmark courses of interest and keep track of completed courses. This service is accessible 24/7 from your desktop or mobile device by visiting https://myapps.microsoft.com/ and navigating to the LinkedIn Learning application to activate your license. You can log in by using your University NetID.

Professional Certificates

To support our members’ career growth, the Committee will now approve funding requests for professional certificates, pending review.

FY 2025 Maximum Allocation

In order to provide funding for as many as possible, the maximum allocation has been changed to $750 per applicant for FY 2025.

Timelines

The Committee meets twice per month to review member applications. It is important to submit the application 15 days before the PD activity or membership due date, and to submit the reimbursement/expense reallocation no later than 28 calendar days after the end of the PD activity date.

Submitting this information is essential to tracking and accurately balancing the funds awarded and disbursed. For the same reason, it is also important to let the UCPEA Office know if the PD award is not used. If you submit the reimbursement/expense reallocation more than 28 calendar days after the end of the PD activity date, you will be unable to utilize the awarded funds.

With the widespread usage of department Procards and Travel Cards, the reallocation of expenses has been used more frequently than reimbursements. Members are encouraged to reach out to their department’s fiscal officer to plan their professional development activities and/or membership dues for a professional organization. Deadlines are the same for both reallocation and reimbursement.
